Social Media Mastery Series: 101 – The Basics

Whether you call it social media, new media or internet media this is where it all starts. If you have no idea what social media is or how to use it then this is the session for you. Whether you are a technological wizard or someone who has trouble checking their email then you need to get to this class as soon as possible. This class covers the basics about social media, it’s origins, it’s appeal as a business owner, and how you can use it to create an amazing and engaging experience with your customers online.

Prerequisites:

  • Understanding basic use of the internet and a web browser
  • Has web based e-mail access (Gmail, MSN Email, Yahoo Email, Cox Email, etc)
  • The ability and freedom to influence the marketing direction of an organization would be a major plus

Environment:

The ideal setting for this class is 10-20 students in an environment where each student has their own access to the internet. Important: A web based email address is required to receive notifications during the class, as well as confirm any sign ups/new accounts that may be done during the class. If each student already has an account on an existing Social Media/Social Networking site they should bring the sign on information for that also.
